On 10 December 2018 the HMI Cluster was founded at Leonhard Weiss in Göppingen. With this project, the intention is to create a standard user interface for operating industrial machines, and in so doing to make a contribution to the future of mobile machines. After two months of idea generation, concept development and first steps, on 12 December 2018 the first Milestone Meeting of the cluster was held at Fritzmeier in Grosshelfendorf. Together with members from Leonhard Weiss, Hamm, Wacker Neuson, Hydac, Embility and Dresden Technical University, the current work status and next steps towards a uniform user interface for all applications were presented and discussed.
The first major objective of the cluster is to give visitors to bauma 2019 an interactive look at the idea and at the cluster’s current thinking on a standard HMI. A global standard user interface for different types of machines and attachments, that is understandable and usable by anybody, would make life much simpler for operators of multiple machine types. You can see and try out the first steps in this direction at bauma 2019.
It’s sure to be interesting. So come and visit us at bauma in Hall 6 / Stand 327 in Munich on 8-14 April 2019!
